Social Networking is huge. Del.icio.us, Digg, Technorati and more offer the opportunity to promote your web presence. If you write compelling and interesting content, they have the potential to take you from a small audience to a huge one in a short period of time.
This can take a bit of luck, along with the compelling, interesting and original content. I’ve been looking around at a number of blogs that have links on each post that allow you to simply click and add their post to a number of social network sites. I think that is a great idea, and took a quick look around to see how best to do this without having to have a lot of technical knowledge.
If you notice, at the bottom of this post, and all of my posts, are links to a number of social networking sites. You too can add these links to your blog posts, you don’t even have to go search for how to do it. I found a great little plugin that works with Wordpress. It’s free, easy to install, and you will instantly be able to offer your readers the opportunity to add your content to various social networking sites.
The plugin, called Sociable, lets you choose from a whole host of social networking sites. I would say there are at least 50 you can add to your tag line, and all the big ones are there for you. You can download the Sociable plugin here.
Once you install the Sociable plugin, you should register for some of the bigger social networking sites and submit some of your better content. I recommend signing up with at least Del.icio.us, Digg and Technorati, they are three of the most popular out there. You can also use the list of social networking sites contained within the options menu of the Sociable plugin to find some new sites to join.
Every little bit helps in promoting your online presence. Do a little bit each day, after a while, you will have built a solid web presence.
